Notability of Franklin High School (New Hampshire)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Franklin High School (New Hampshire) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Rob110178 20:43, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Sorry
[edit]I accidentally put your userpage for deletion. Don't worry, I removed the template.--RyRy5 talk 06:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I just found it to be amusing, and perplexing until I saw that it was a mistake. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 06:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Subarticle/Spinout article
[edit]Hey SC: before reverting a template move, it might have been good to post a quick note on my talk page. Also, your move of the template created a double redirect; I assume you are in the process of fixing that? UnitedStatesian (talk) 16:16, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think RusBot got it. Any more that still need to be fixed? SayCheeeeeese (talk) 06:41, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Adoption

- Sounds good to me. Here is a question - how do I move an image to commons? SayCheeeeeese (talk) 08:22, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- For example, the Image:JeanneShaheen.JPG is that a copyright that can be used on the commons? Can it be moved to commons into the category "Governors of New Hampshire"? SayCheeeeeese (talk) 08:32, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I think you should be able to move that image to the commons. I'm not real good with that stuff, but what I'd do is create an account and upload it, and link the Wikipedia image to that. Hope that helps. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 22:23, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have an account, but I didn't want to take ownership of the image, I just wanted to move it. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 05:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm going to try to follow the directions at Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons and see what happens. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 05:09, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- No luck. Check this out though. Wikipedia:WikiProject Moving free images to Wikimedia Commons - 79,000 images that need to be moved to commons. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 05:27, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- It wouldn't really be owning the image. If you are having trouble (since my speciality isn't image moving) I suggest you leave a note on the projects' talk page, watch it, and someone should get back to you soon. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 15:03, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'll see if I can get some help. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 04:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

- I don't agree with you. It's hardly long enough and isn't really disruptive. It has 13 characters. Yours has 18. Haha... was 15. It just looks longer because it's outstreched. I don't think it's a problem. If it were some profanity or explicit details of what happened last night, then the user should be blocked/renamed. Moving images to commons
[edit]Please check to see what I have done to see if it is ok. I moved Image:0Master Past 740000yrs temperatures CO2 icecore Dome C 150dpi.png. It was originally uploaded by the copyright holder, who released it under {{self|GFDL|cc-by-3.0}}, which appeared to be legitimate. The glitch I had been having was I was getting a "not logged in" message, but I logged in to the commons and that went away. I checked the box at the bottom, "Directly upload file (using commons user name 'File Upload Bot (Magnus Manske)')". I did find instructions for using the commonshelper at commons:User:Magnus Manske/Commonshelper interface/Help en. After the file was transferred I couldn't click "delete immediately" because that is an Admin function, but I clicked "[Add {{NowCommons}}]", which brought up an edit screen and I clicked save. I also clicked edit on commons and added the category "Global warming". Most of the images that need to be moved I think the hardest part is going to be trying to decide if the license is valid. See for example Image:02-hoops shot.jpg or Image:01-fullshot2.jpg. 02 has apparently been uploaded three times by the same user, and marked as possibly not free and deleted each time, yet they keep on uploading the same image. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 05:40, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- You did a good job on moving Image:0Master Past 740000yrs temperatures CO2 icecore Dome C 150dpi.png. An admin may have to perform the final deletion since the license isn't an exact match, but the {{self}} tag was removed correctly; but by the Criteria for Speedy Deletion (I8), there's a necessary one-week delay for this, because you weren't the original uploader. I hope this helps, answer here if not. :-) Dcoetzee 06:31, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. What about the botmoved template, "This image was moved to Wikimedia Commons from en.wikipedia using a bot script."? I didn't notice that until afterwards. Should I have just deleted it when I added the category on the commons? SayCheeeeeese (talk) 08:05, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I don't know that for sure, but I believe you want to keep that to document the move. Dcoetzee 10:03, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Reading it, it sounds like it is only supposed to stay until someone has reviewed it - there are two ways of using the script, one, the one that I used, no editing is allowed and so you have to review what the bot did, and what it seems to me is that you are supposed to remove it after you have cleaned it up by checking what the bot did and adding the categories and stuff like that. The other way, you load the image onto your own computer and upload it yourself, the bot just fills in the text for you, but you can edit it yourself and put in the categories and stuff like that, whatever the bot missed, so I would guess that it isn't to let everyone know it has been transferred but that it was transferred by a dumbbot and needs to be reviewed. Hence now that it has been reviewed the notice should be deleted. SayCheeeeeese (talk) 15:45, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

In addition to above
[edit]I'm glad you figured it out. Happy hobbying! Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours at 22:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well you can see by how many I transferred to commons that I am not very confident with the procedure, but it does seem to work. Also it is such a rats nest trying to figure out whether something is a copyright violation or not. If I have some time I will try to do some more. I just have not had much time. Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called SayCheeeeeese. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name SayCheeeeeese~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
