Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it is still a DRAFT and in order to create a historical page the writer has used some promo copy from the company.

This will be altered / deleted after fact checking and additional information from other web sources has also been incorporated into the overview.

Schtung Music has a history going back to the early 1970's so we are slowly building up a full picture of the history of the musicians etc. involved,

To that end, the writers would be grateful if Wiki could judge the finished page when completed, which will take a week or two.

Thank you for your understanding - we will submit the finished page for your appraisal when complete!

Kind regards

Please read the information below about editing with a conflict of interest. Also, if you wish to create a draft, you should do so at WP:DRAFTS not on your user page. Thanks, Melcous (talk) 13:47, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Schtung Music. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 13:47, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

September 2016[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Widr (talk) 14:33, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand the reason for my block and I will not repeat the kind of edits for which I was blocked. Will rewrite the information in accordance to wiki policy and it will be soley informative and have no advertising substances

Decline reason:

You state that you won't repeat the edits for which you were blocked, but then state that you want to keep editing about your company. Please read WP:PROMO, WP:COI, and WP:PAID which will help explain to you why that won't be permitted. If you want to edit about something other than your company, you may make another unblock request; I am declining this one. 331dot (talk) 10:01, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please understand that Wikipedia is not for merely telling the world about a company. That is considered promotional here. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, that has articles about subjects shown with independent reliable sources to meet the relevant notability guidelines, in this case those written at WP:ORG. As such, Wikipedia has no interest in what a company wants to say about itself, it is only interested in what independent sources state. If you just want to tell the world about your company, you should do that on its own website, or in one of these alternative outlets. 331dot (talk) 10:01, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
