Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Sgrduhs, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 19:47, 8 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Unblock

[edit]

Nothing sort of advertisement added by editing. The purpose of editing was just to convey, what is there in the university. It’s not a one man show, rather a university managed by golden temple trust. Added number of MBBS and MD seats and method of admission, which is a test conducted by Central government. No date of admission, no forms for admission, neither other way to apply nor any sort of approach for admission added by editing. The things added are very common in all health universities of India and nothing special sort of advertisement was there. So please Unblock the account. Sgrduhs (talk) 07:51, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The information you added is probably commonplace, although I'm not sure such admission details are in other university articles.
The more critical issue to me is your connection to the university. Please specify what relationship, if any, exists between you and the uni. Additionally, please indicate what you would like to change your username to if you were to be unblocked: your username must represent you as a person, not an institution or organization. —C.Fred (talk) 19:30, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear thanks for the response I just added the information from website www.sgrduhs.in I know the limits of the Wikipedia policy but don’t know much about how to add and editing. I added number of seats in MBBS and MD/MS courses and their admission done by government. It is neither promotional nor advertisement. Sgrduhs (talk) 15:49, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You still have not answered the question. Do you have a relationship—employee, student, etc.—with the university? —C.Fred (talk) 00:37, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I'm a alumni of Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences. That's why I decided to create Wikipedia account and contribute to university page. It is my first contribution to Wikipedia but not for any promotion or advertisement. I have posted only those details which are obvious, available on various reliable websites (including university official website). If you have any issue with username, I'm ready to change it. Please unblock my account.

Decline reason:

Thank you for admitting your violation of WP:COI. However, you forgot to pick a new username and you forgot to tell us what subject areas you would write about, now that you know you won't be writing about your university. Yamla (talk) 10:23, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I have requested for new username. Its approval is pending. About Contribution: As I belong to medical field, I would like contribute to medical field related articles.

Decline reason:

I would concur with Yamla's comment below; you don't seem to understand WP:COI sufficiently. It is going to be difficult for you to edit about medical related subjects directly. If you are here to be a general contributor, please indicate what other subjects you are interested in editing about. 331dot (talk) 10:41, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This convinces me you haven't read (or at least haven't understood) WP:COI. Please reread it. If you don't understand parts of it, please ask here. --Yamla (talk) 13:28, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
