Information icon Hi ShawnKanda! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Nigel Ng that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 18:24, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, what’s the difference between “Chinese regime” and “the government of China”? I say the latter adds clarity and lends a sense of legitimacy: you wouldn’t call it, were it be so, the “Canadian regime” in reference to Canada’s legitimate Constitutional Monarchy form of government, would you? Thanks. ShawnKanda (talk) 18:47, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
...which is why both phrases have different meaning....as you said it...even a single word changes the meaning...
so Special:Diff/1186508655 is WP:NOTMINOR --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 18:56, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
quote Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if the edit concerns a single word, and it is improper to mark such an edit as minor....minor changes..Spelling, grammatical..Formatting that does not change the meaning of the page..Fixing layout errors.. --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 18:58, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. I will say it strikes me as a bit odd that I’ve made these so-called minor changes without any complaint or feedback prior to this: I’m not sure how much weight to assign the lesson, for future reference, apart from the presently-unique circumstances, here, lol, wherein I am adding context and clarity——with a truly minor edit——in reference to a topical remark made by an influential figure about a certain government.
