Your contributed article, Shilluk Numbers[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Shilluk Numbers. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Shilluk language. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Shilluk language - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:57, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

March 2011[edit]

Please do not create duplicate copies of the same article, as you did at Shilluk Numbers, Shk, and Dhͻg Cͻllͻ. Doing so causes various problems, including difficulties in ensuring that changes to the content are coordinated. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:00, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop creating the article on Shilluk numbers since your table already exists in the main article on the language. It is not helpful at all to have another Shilluk article that exists only of tables. Please consider writing constructive text into the main article instead, because that is what we really need. Thank you. De728631 (talk) 20:23, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, as you did at Shilluk Numbers and Dhͻ Cͻlͻ, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. At first you presumably did not know how Wikipedia works, and were acting in good faith, but you have continued to recreate the same articles after having the situation explained to you. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:33, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that this is English Wikipedia, and the title of an article should be the name by which its subject is generally known in English. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:35, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, as you did at shk, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard. De728631 (talk) 20:39, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Shk[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Shk, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 20:42, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shilluk numbers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Jarkeld (talk) 21:43, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 days for persistent disruptive editing, despite repeated warnings. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. License tagging for File:OKWA UNIVERSITY B W LOGO.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:OKWA UNIVERSITY B W LOGO.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:05, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Okwa University for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Okwa University is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Okwa University until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:30, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • You really should work on your article in user space before making a "live" article. This will give you the opportunity to add content and references at your leisure. Just some advice Tiderolls 03:04, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you continue to add completely inappropriate content to the article, such as spurious "references" that do not even mention "Okwa University", you will be blocked. You have already been extended a good deal of assumption of good faith by not having the article speedily deleted as a hoax, and by not having your account blocked for vandalism, but you are close to exhausting that assumption of good faith. Block[edit]

Despite warnings above you have continued with your disruptive editing. Among other things, and in addition to the problems mentioned above, you have done the following:

  1. Removed an "Article for deletion" notice from an article, despite the clear instruction "this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed". Perhaps you thought that removing the notice would cause the deletion discussion to stop. However, this is not so: the discussion will continue, and the only difference will be that people who visit the article will not be aware of the discussion, and so will not have an opportunity to contribute to it.
  2. Removing a tag about lack of sources, without providing any sources.
  3. Posting a message to other editors in an article. Such messages belong on talk pages, not in articles.
  4. Telling other editors that they must not edit an article you have created, and referring to such editing as "a violation of other people's belongings". Perhaps you should read Wikipedia:Ownership of articles, where you will see that you do not own a Wikipedia article you create. Every time you make any edit in Wikipedia, immediately under the "Save page" button there is a message saying "If you do not want your writing to be edited, used, and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here."
  5. Attacking other editors, repeatedly accusing them of "hate".
  6. Making implausible claims, such as that the International Monetary Fund is funding the university. To the best of my knowledge, the IMF's activities do not extend to funding universities.

If your creation and editing of this article were the first time you had exhibited such disruptive and uncooperative editing practices, I would now be giving a final warning. However, your previous editing has exhibited similar problems of persisting with your own view and ignoring advice, Wikipedia's guidelines, and warnings. Consequently I have blocked this account for 1 week. When the block expires you are very welcome to edit constructively, in cooperation with other editors. I hope you will take that opportunity. It would be a pity if you continued to edit uncooperatively, which might lead to your being blocked indefinitely. If you think there are good reasons for you to be unblocked before the end of that period you may follow the instructions in your previous block notice. June 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Shilluk Kingdom may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 05:39, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
