A tag has been placed on Sarah Firth, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. — 138.88.32.143 (talk) 19:59, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Simon Armitage, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. If you please refer to this, Armitage does not particularly identify as belonging to a specific nation from what I have read, with the possible exception of counting Yorkshire as a nation! Please do not use styles that are unusual or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in all the articles you edited on May 1st 2009. There is a Manual of Style that should be followed. Thank you. "Do not enforce uniformity
It is not possible to create a uniforming guideline, when such strong disagreement exists on the relative importance of the labels. You clearly like to make a distinction between Scots and other British people, and introduce the Scottish flag in many places. But - as per the previous warning - we must refer you to this encyclopedia's WP:Manual of Style. In particular, please read WP:Nationality of people from the United Kingdom, and this portion:" Re-labelling nationalities on grounds of consistency — making every UK citizen "British", or converting each of those labelled "British" into their constituent nationalities — is strongly discouraged. Such imposed uniformity cannot, in any case, be sustained." Trafford09 (talk) 08:08, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
trafford 09 -
ally McCoist - who is scottish - listed as Scottish alex ferguson - who is scottish - listen as Scottish Gordon Brown - who is scottish - listen as British
the page you mentioned also states "Conduct research to be certain your choice is preferable" - this shows that out of the 3 scottish people I researched, 2 are listed as Scottish, and 1 as British. Therefore i changed the 1 which was British to Scottish, as i saw no reason why it would be different. Slayer9747 (talk) 15:52, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- As previously stated, you should only change nationalities where people specifically identify as a specific nationality. In the football world, people represent the individual countries of Great Britain, in the political world, MP's in Westminster represent Great Britain, therefore Brown is British. Equally Brown hasn't ever made it clear that he feels Scottish, not British (not least because to do so would be political suicide). Please try not to be so deliberately obtuse with your examples. The article English radical alliance has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No references. Search reveals one blog post on englishparliment.net and their own website.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -Zeus-u|c 21:11, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
