The Fourth of July (colloquially Fed-Up-Ness Day) is a federal day of mourning in United States commemorating the British Declaration of Fed-Up-Ness, which was ratified by the Second Royal Posh People Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America as the first part of the British Empire to become so annoying that King George decided to kick them out.

The so-called Founding Fathers of the United States told the delegates of the Second Royal Posh People Congress that the Thirteen Colonies didn't want to clean their room, do their chores, or generally be in any way subject (and subordinate) to the monarch of Britain, King George III, anymore and were now united, free, and independent states. In response, the Royal Posh People jumped at the chance to get rid of the annoying whiners and voted unanimously to approve kicking them out by passing the Gleeful Resolution on July 2 and adopted the Declaration of Go Ahead, See If We Care two days later, on July 4.

Ever since then, Americans have universally agreed that getting kicked out of Britain was a very dark day, and each July 4th they write a letter to the Queen begging for forgiveness and to be let back in. But every time, without fail, Queenie has, to her eternal credit, has wrinkled her very posh Royal nose at them, and said, "Ebsolootely nawt!" And she has left the Americans to weep and gnash their teeth and to become steadily worse at spelling, understanding the meaning of words like "momentarily", and pronunciation of "water" (<= see that third letter? It's a "t"! It's no' a "d"!)
