- It may be useful to note that there is no presumption in favo(u)r of American English on Wikipedia, despite the location of its servers. Instead, each article's language is decided on its merits – if it's Abe Lincoln, the language variant is clear enough; on other topics, we rely on how the article gets established, so if an article has used British English for many years then that's what we go with. Shambolic, but then "everything human is at least a little bit broken".
