License tagging for Image:DrumMajor02.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:DrumMajor02.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:05, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Please understand that we like the image, but I also am a bit put off that you used this image to replace another image already properly sourced. Given that this article is going to be on the main page tomorrow and this image does not comply with Featured Article criteria, I am removing the image, but have left it in comments. I would LOVE to include this image. Please contact me on my talk page once this has been addressed. — BQZip01 — talk 17:58, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Again, I want the image on the page, but "This image does not have a copyright tag. Copyright tagging is required in order to provide a consistent way to identify the copyright status of images, and to allow for automated classification of images. This template should be replaced with the appropriate copyright tag. Failure to tag an image may lead to its deletion. If you have any questions please see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions." needs to be addressed on the image page - Image:DrumMajor02.jpg. In the section there, I am trying to show a cadet who ISN'T doing something directly band related. Again, there is NOTHING wrong with the image and it would be perfect for the article, but it needs a copyright tag before it is added to a Featured Article. Right now, the page is still locked for new users. If you address the copyright problem, I would be happy to put it up there for you (BTW, is this a picture of YOU?... :-) ) — BQZip01 — talk 15:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
