Appropriate genres
[edit]Hi, I reverted your edit here at Secret Mountain Fort Awesome because it did not appear constructive to me, although I know that your intentions were good. Wikipedia does not allow original research in its articles, and deciding of your own accord that the series should be classified as "toilet humor" is original research in the form of personal interpretation. Also, "toilet humor" is not a standard genre for television. Since you are attempting to add this to the article's infobox, and since the infobox is supposed to summarize properly sourced content in the article, if "toilet humor" hasn't been sourced as a genre elsewhere in the article, you probably shouldn't add it to the infobox, especially not without a reference. Hope that helps, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:05, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Steven Universe. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Since you continued your alterations of genres... EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 01:01, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- Adding onto Evergreen's note: you have been asked politely not to add unsourced genre. Genre must be sourced per Template:Infobox television instructions. If you add unsourced genres again, it will be considered vandalism. We're not interested in your personal opinions at Wikipedia. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:16, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
- Though you did add sources here I had to revert them because: IMDb is not a reliable source per WP:RS/IMDB and WP:TVFAQ, Animation Magazine reference doesn't mention genre or espionage, and pastiche is not a genre. Also, per template instructions, we don't want more than 4 examples of genre. I'm not sure how else to help you along in this endeavor, but I will point out that genre describes the overall framework of a TV series. In most cases this is "Drama", "Comedy", "reality", "documentary", "news program", "sitcom", not niche stuff like "espionage", "pastiche", "toilet humor", "surreal humor".
