Information icon Hello, I'm Acather96. I noticed that you made a change to an article, St John Ambulance Ranks and Insignia, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Apologies - the process of the rank review is quite common knowledge amongst those affected by it, so I intended to include the main citation once the bulk of the editing was done to the rank tables. I'll re-edit shortly with a reference to the appropriate documentation. --SunsetTapestryBaboon (talk) 16:34, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, thanks for your work. I am a volunteer in SJA myself, and so far I've only heard speculation about the Rank Review and wanted to stop that going onto Wikipedia. But if you've got a source to back it up, thats great - thanks for contributing! Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions! :) Acather96 (click here to contact me) 16:42, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's odd, what region are you? I'm East of England, and we got info on the new rank structure sent through our regional newsletter weeks ago now, so I assumed it had been sent out across the country. It's supposedly on SJAconnect too, but I can't find any publicly accessible source. :/ --SunsetTapestryBaboon (talk) 17:09, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The article looks a lot better now, thanks for citing those sources. I'm also in the East of England region (West Anglia district) , but don't get the newsletter recently. My Connect login/password isn't working - I'd heard that they were simplifying the officer grades and abolishing adult NCO ranks, though I'm not sure if this is correct? If you have electronic copies of the documents, I'd appreciate it if you could e-mail them to me? You don't have to or anything, I'd just like a look as it'll be another week till I get back to Division. Thanks, Acather96 (click here to contact me) 18:02, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I'll send you the reference guide when I get back to my laptop (don't have the PDF on my phone). Looks like the main changes so far are that unit managers are guaranteed 3 stars (unit staff are all 2 stars), area managers get a star as well as a crown, and apart from certain district officers that are equal to area managers it jumps straight up to crossed stretchers after that. No word about adult NCO ranks so I assume they've been scrapped, but youth ranks look the same (Cdt/Cpl/Sgt/LdCdt). --SunsetTapestryBaboon (talk) 18:25, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers, I appreciate that. Just to let you know I've granted confirmed rights as well which should make editing templates a little easier and stop the software blocking some of your edits. Thanks, Acather96 (click here to contact me) 18:47, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
