Notability of Susan Jiwey[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Susan Jiwey, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Susan Jiwey seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Susan Jiwey, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Susanjiwey! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 874 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

A tag has been placed on Susan Jiwey, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

inaccurate and out of date.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Susanjiwey (talk) 18:12, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have declined this request for speedy deletion, since it does not fit any of our criteria for such. If, as the article subject, you wish the page deleted, you would need to list it at Articles for deletion for discussion (full instructions on how to post a listing there are on the linked page). In addition, you would need to confirm your identity by contacting Wikimedia's volunteer response team (we have no evidence at present that you actually are Susan Jiwey beyond your say-so, which (since you are editing anonymously) is insufficient). In fact, to save you the trouble (it's a complex process) I'll file an AfD for you now. The need to confirm your identity still remains, however. Yunshui  07:43, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, we don't delete articles because they are "inaccurate and out of date" - we have a concept of WP:SOFIXIT. I understand that you may be the subject, and the subject of an article should not be the primary author of such an article (you do need to verify this through WP:OTRS). However, as the subject, you are permitted to remove unreferenced information, and provide clarification/updates if properly referenced. As an article that has been in existence for more than 4 years, it would be a shame to see it go - I'd personally rather see the article improved/updated! dangerouspanda 10:23, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
