Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Your submission at Articles for creation[edit]

Thank you for submitting an article to Wikipedia. Your draft submission has been reviewed. However, the reviewer felt that a few things need to be fixed before it is accepted. Please take a look and respond if possible. You can find it at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/SysIQ. If there is no response within seven days, the request may be declined. If this happens, please feel free to continue to work on the article. You can resubmit it (by adding the text {{subst:submitdraft}} to the top of the article) when you believe the concerns have been addressed. Thank you. Requested username:

Request reason:

I'm very new to wikipedia and I do apologize for my mistakes. I really tried to create strictly informative article. I should of read username and submission policy more carefully. I would like to contribute information on the subject of my expertise so people would understand better some of the things that they are looking for in encyclopedia. I would appreciate a second chance and the user name change. I promise not to repeat my mistakes again.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. JohnCD (talk) 12:08, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One of the reasons users are strongly discouraged from editing on subjects where they have a WP:Conflict of interest is that with the best intentions they find it impossible not to write promotionally. Your article said "industry leading... sophisticated... unique... ". Wikipedia calls those "peacock terms", unsupported adjectives of praise; they are typical of advertisements and PR-speak but have no place in an encyclopedia article.

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. JohnCD (talk) 10:53, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@John CD: Thank you very much for your comment. I fully understand that changing my username won't allow me to violate the principles that you outlined above. I just want to be able to contribute information to unfinished articles and I promise not to post anything related to the company that I work for. Wikipedia clearly is not a business directory and I do understand how conflict of interest applies to me. I really had to be more attentive to policies and reading "fine prints" before submitting my article for review. Regardless of the outcome I sincerely apologize for violating the rules.

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/SysIQ, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 02:03, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gogashville44. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "SysIQ".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/SysIQ}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 21:25, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
