WP:RS on Foundation tv Topic.
[edit]I have no opinion on the matter - but I did revert the changes - if you have an RS - cite it and revert - it cannot be just your opinion - you might be correct - but WP:RS requires supporting the original delete you made.
Hope that makes sense.

- Yeah, I know how sourcing works. I quickly edited it on my phone and didn't bother including the link under the assumption that no one apparently cared enough this page to bother checking since inaccurate information with thin sourcing had been left published for months, but I guess people were too busy deciding on whether the show could be deemed an "adaptation." ;)
- Standards need to be upheld, though, so thank you. TFNT8719 (talk) 02:23, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- I have really no clue, I liked the first season, liked the original books.
- I could have left it - but thought it was worth a citation.
- Many thanks and cheers Dr.BeingObjective (talk) 04:26, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- It appears that the third season has been confirmed here, so the sourced content that was removed should be restored, and any further discussion had on the article talk page. (pinging BeingObjective) - wolf 04:49, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- Okay - I have no information - Just a passing edit. Likely needs correcting. by@TFNT8719

- @Thewolfchild, the article you linked to explicitly states that it hasn’t been renewed yet: “Foundation season 3 has yet to be officially renewed, as Apple TV+ hasn't made a commitment to another season amidst the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.” TFNT8719 (talk) 16:52, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- Ensuring WP:RS.
- Change what you will - it takes more effort to communicate with me than to change the article.

The point is that in updating the article, there doesn't need to be a solid, black & white confirmation that the show has been renewed for another season to add content about the goings-on with the writers and the production team. If there is some filming taking place, as reported in sources, that can be added. If the creatives attached to the show have made sourced comments about plans for the story going forward, that can be added. Anything that is sourced and relevant can be added, that is how articles are built. - wolf 17:54, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure who that was targeted at.
- Sure, totally.

- If the show hasn’t been renewed for a third season, filming won’t have started. TFNT8719 (talk) 21:55, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- If you have a source that specifically says the show hasn't been renewed (as of date xyz) or that the show has been cancelled, that would be one thing. But, just as you can't prove a negative, just because there hasn't been a source provided that states the show has been renewed, does not mean that sourced content about, eg: new filming, can't be added to the article.
WP is about verifiability, not truth. So with that said, any of that sourced content that was removed should be put back. - wolf 23:41, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- That’s literally what I provided with The Wrap interview with David Goyer, the show runner, which was published on Sept 15. That’s why Being Optimistic added it as a source.
- So you don’t have the official renewal yet?
- You know, Apple and Skydance are extremely happy with our Season 2 performance that the audience has unquestionably built. I just think the feeling is that in deference to the twin strikes that are happening now, it would be bad form to do something like that. But I’m very optimistic. TFNT8719 (talk) 00:42, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Also, just to hammer this point home, this is the part of the interview immediately before the part I referenced in my previous comment:
- “I hope to get the word on Season 3 as soon as the strike is over. I will also do a little plug which is on my website, I’ve been releasing show notes and behind-the-scenes pics, and then I’ve reluctantly joined Instagram and hopefully as we wait for a Season 3 pickup I’ll be trickling out various behind the scenes videos and stills.”
- That was published on Sept 15. The “source” that claimed filming on season 3 had started said it started in May of this year. TFNT8719 (talk) 00:47, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Well, you do realize the writer's strike ran from May to September, right? So it kinda makes sense that some production could've been underway back in May, then everything was put on hold. Then the actor's strike ran from July to November. There are a myriad of reasons why the third season hasn't been announced yet (or it has and just hasn't been been noted here on WP yet).
But the main issue here is, do you have any reason to question the reliability of the sources (1 & 2) that were attached to the content you removed? If so, then you need to take that up at RSN, right over --> here. Otherwise, and just to hammer this point home, you can't removed sourced content based on WP:OR reasons, and you need a policy-based reason to do so. - wolf 02:16, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- I honestly can’t tell if you’re trolling, don’t know how things work in tv production, or just hate to be wrong, but you asked for evidence that the show was not filming, and I provided it. Shows don’t get produced before they’re renewed.
- Also, what’s more likely? Some random guy’s website (which is what the Prague Reporter is) that seems to aggregate Czech production company press releases maybe got something wrong? Or that Apple has decided to secretly film a multimillion dollar tv show before announcing they’ve renewed it for a third season? And that they’ve done so without the involvement of the show’s creator? TFNT8719 (talk) 02:36, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Also, I need to take a moment to point out the goalpost moving here. Your first comment in this thread included a link, which you clearly hadn’t taken the time to read in full, that you claimed confirmed that the third season had been renewed and was your basis for arguing that information on filming should be put back. When I pointed out that the link you included actually explicitly said the opposite, you went off on “this is how you build an article,” etc. Then it was “if you have a source that specifically says the show hasn't been renewed (as of date xyz) or that the show has been cancelled, that would be one thing.” And now when I literally give you that source - an interview from a reputable publication with the show runner, it’s all of a sudden about “there are a myriad reasons why the third season hasn’t been announced yet…” TFNT8719 (talk) 02:48, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

You have a total of 9 edits worth of experience, more than half of which are here in this thread, and you're accusing me of being a "troll"...? Take a moment and read WP:NPA. Then come back and stick to the salient points in my replies, which are the one supported by policy. You can't dismiss sources (plural) because you think one of them is "some guy that...yadda yadda yadda". If you want to challenge them, go. to. RSN. You can't dismiss content because no "official announcement proclaiming a third season as being green-lighted" has been made, or made but not found and added to the article, (or whatever). And you can't use that lack of an announcement for your argument that "no production on a third season could have possibly occurred", as it is WP:OR.
So, with the exception of anything I may have written up to this point that is supported by policy, if you want to dismiss everything else I wrote, (as part of an effort to discuss this with you), go ahead. I'm not going to argue with you anymore, and as far as p&g is concerned, I don't need to. Without a sourced update to counter the content you want removed, or a consensus at rsn that those sources you want removed are not reliable, you don't have a sound reason to remove that content. So with that, I think we're done here. - wolf 03:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Again, I provided you with evidence, and each time you came back with some different rationale for moving the goalpost. It’s not “dismissing content” when you literally have the showrunner saying that the show hasn’t been renewed for season 3. TFNT8719 (talk) 04:01, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Also, enjoy promulgating false information when there’s literal evidence countering it! TFNT8719 (talk) 04:11, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
