Conflict of interest

[edit]

Taja Sevelle

Ms. Sevelle - Wikipedia expressly prohibits subjects of an article from editing that article. In addition, just because information you might enter on your page is factual does not make it encyclopedic. All content must be verifiable by acceptable sources that can be immediately referenced by the general public; as such, your say-so does not meet that criteria. For more information on this matter, please review Wikipedia's page on Conflict of Interest: Conflict of Interest. CouplandForever (talk) 03:29, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest and edit quality

[edit]

Ms. Richardson, I notice that you were warned by another editor six months ago, above, that you were violating Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy. Since then, I have had to revert many edits by you which not only continue to violate that policy, but that contain material that is unencyclopaedic and therefore does not belong in Wikipedia. Your additions are also very poorly edited and formatted, below an acceptable quality.

Your personal website is listed in the article. That is the proper place for all of the enormously detailed personal biography you repeatedly add to Wikipedia, and which does not belong here, as it fails to meet Wikipedia's policy that material added must be truly notable. It is essential to understand that Wikipedia is not your personal website or noticeboard where anything you like can be added. Criteria for inclusion must be met, or material may be removed.

In an edit summary six months ago, you wrote to another editor, "I am Taja Sevelle. I have entered the information about myself and you may verify it with me. There is no better source. Please stop taking down the information that I am putting up on my Wikipedia page."

There are a number of problems in that statement from the point of view of Wikipedia policy. You are not considered to be an authoritative source for material added owing to the conflict of interest policy and because any material added must be credibly referenced. We cannot verify information with you, as you suggest.

The article Taja Sevelle is not "my Wikipedia page". Your own website is yours, but Wikipedia is everyone's, and you have no special control or ownership over even an article that is about you. You cannot direct others how to edit the article (not your article). This is explained in the article about article ownership (or more accurately, lack of ownership).

Please study Wikipedia Help documentation for advice on proper editing and what may and may not be included here, and when material can be removed for failing to meet quality standards.

The article directs readers to your website at tajasevelle.com where you may say anything at all that you like, but anything you add here that is not worthy of inclusion or that violates the policies of Wikipedia will be removed, and if you persist in violating these policies, you will be banned, and blocked from editing here. — O'Dea (talk) 13:18, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello! Perhaps you will be able to help me. I have tried to update my Wikipedia page several times. I have no intention of misusing the page, and have tried with two different email addresses to present correct information on this page along with the reference information that verifies the facts. I had no intention of "sockpuppetry" so please forgive me. My problem is that I am not experienced in posting the information and it seems that I do not know how to properly post the references and information. In the past, as you know, I have posted several links to numerous media stories and articles that verify the information that I have posted, but the information keeps getting cleared off of my page. Your information about why this was happening did help me to understand some of what I was doing wrong. Thank you. I am asking for help from a Wikipedia specialist. I would like to contribute to the page with verifiable information and need to help doing this the right way. Please help me. Thank you very much! Best regards, --Tajsevelle (talk) 8:17 pm, Today (UTC−6) Taja Sevelle
