Hello there. I'm just following up on this edit summary when your addition to Category:Aerosmith personnel was reverted.

Text like this should never be added to category pages. Such pages contain at most a link to the relevant article for the overall category and possibly a brief explanation of the criteria for category inclusion—nothing else. Material such as yours could be added to the Aerosmith article itself or in a separate article on Keith Garde (if he passes the notabilty criteria for a standalone article), but definitely not in its present state. It is full of promotional, unencyclopedic puffery, way too long for inclusion in the Aerosmith article, and most importantly, there are no references whatsoever for any of the assertions made. Assertions about living people require references to independently published reliable sources. Below are some links which will clarify these points for you and provide further guidance:

  • WP:BLP – our policy on biographies of living persons
  • WP:VERIFY – how to verify information properly and why this is important
  • WP:PEA – how to avoid puffery and promotionalism in your writing
  • WP:42 – brief summary of notability and referencing requirements

Voceditenore beat me to it! However, a few other comments from my part: make sure if you do attempt to write an article, you provide extensive coverage in independent and reliable sources. After a quick look, I'm quite certain the subject in question is most likely non-notable. If you do decide to submit an article anyways, maybe give WP:AFC a try, as it has a nice tutorial to guide you through the process, plus you'll get good feedback from experienced editors there.
