[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 10:10, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

wrote this article out of personal interest of this artist because we got to see him at Tomorrowland and realized he did not have a wiki page

Decline reason:

As per below, user is no longer planning on further edits at this time. If that changes, if you have specific edits you wish to make, feel free to make a new unblock request. Yamla (talk) 11:42, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Does this mean the original article that I wrote will not get published? I was hoping to have my username changed and have that original article published on Marlon Hoffstadt.
I would like my account to be unblocked. I am not using Wikipedia on behalf of my agency at all. I just thought if I used that name it would lend to my credibility.
Are you able to help with my name change and unblocking my account? I am happy to sign whatever needed to ensure I am in NO way making any money off of this and am not associating this with any of my actual clients: i.e. Skylab Technologies, Basis Clinic, etc. Tartagency (talk) 11:47, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your username is that of a marketing agency. He's not your client? 331dot (talk) 10:20, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No!!! I have a marketing agency yes, in Vancouver but we just came to Tomorrowland and got the opportunity to meet him and he was SO lovely! So we wanted to write about him online.
He is in NO way paying us for anything and he is NOT a client in any way!! Tartagency (talk) 10:26, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am new to Wikipedia and thought this would be something nice to do because my friend mentioned his Wikipedia page to Marlon but then we realized he did NOT have one and agreed that he definitely should. :( Tartagency (talk) 10:28, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to assume that is true. In that case, you are too much of a marketer to be able to write about living people, especially those who benefit from marketing efforts like musicians, at least right now. I stress that does not make you a bad person, you just have a different viewpoint and skill set. Someone else will review your request, and I'm content with whatever decision they make(they don't need to consult me) but if I were to consider unblocking you I would want you to refrain from editing about living people for now, and tell what edits you will make instead. 331dot (talk) 10:32, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay! It is the truth. I mean I work with all women. We do content creation. I mainly run ads but that has nothing to do with writing and making this article. I am not benefiting from this in any way. You can look up my agency on Instagram @tartagency and my personal account is @Celinebeans.
I honestly just thought that this would be something nice for Marlon because he was so nice, we met him as fans. I have a photo and we wrote this as fans of his music.
I had no idea how Wiki worked and I thought that using the agency name would lend me more credibility as a writer because I am not one... but i think that just made me shoot myself in the foot. Tartagency (talk) 10:35, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I won't ever make another Wikipedia page and have no intention of making further edits. I did however do a lot of research and was hoping to have this page published. So I have put in a name request and am hoping that the work I did did not go to waste.
Happy to further explain this to whoever because my intentions are pure and are not against the guidelines. Tartagency (talk) 10:37, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
