Hello. Please don't write about your band. Thanks. - Lucky 6.9 02:01, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, again. Your article is coming off like the sorts of "band vanity" articles that we delete by the hundreds each day. I suggest that you please clean up the style and establish notability before it's deleted again. Hope this helps. - Lucky 6.9 02:06, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hi there

i dont know if this is right or not (im not amazing with this), but im hoping this is a reply to your message!

I dont know what you mean about the page I am creating, I am merely writing a page about a topic I am studying into, as it does not have a page on here, I do not understand what you mean about band vanity?

I do not know the band personally, I cannot get them for comment, I am confused!

Thanks, Steve

I am upset that the page is classed under something about "speedy deletion"...

I fail to see how I can write about the subject matter without resorting to lies??!

I am writing about what I know, and I am very very confused

Regards, Steve

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Iamfire.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Iamfire.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Glasgow BOX

[edit]

Hi,

The article was deleted under two different criteria for speedy deletion, CSD A7 and CSD G11. A7 is used for articles that fail to assert encyclopedic notability -- note that "it's great" or "it's popular" are NOT encyclopedic assertions of notability. Wikipedia is not a directory of fine local bars. Encyclopedic notability arises from significant mainstream press coverage, or comparable coverage within scholarly media. G11 is used to eliminate content that is excessively advertorial, including especially content whose sole external references are websites owned by, or commercially promoting, the article's subject. Your article offended both of these criteria fairly blatantly. If you wish to make a better article, you will need independent reliable sources covering the importance of the bar. Reliable sources generally do not include personal web-pages, incidentally.

A word of advice: the bar has been open less than a year -- if I had to guess, I'd it's almost impossible that this establishment is encyclopedically notable. Wikipedia is not a place to advertise neat new things; it is a place to record, rather formally, items that are already very renowned. Wikipedia is not a directory of nightlife trendy spots in Glasgow, New York, or anywhere. If you see other articles that you think are like BOX Glasgow, they probably don't belong either; show them to me, and I'll delete them for you. (See also WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS.) The sorts of establishments one expects to find in an encyclopedia are usually 1) historically famous, but now closed (Studio 54); or, 2) very old; or, 3) notorious for the wrong reasons (eg., The Station nightclub fire). For its own sake, it's probably a good thing that your favorite club doesn't belong in Wikipedia yet, more than likely. Best wishes, Xoloz 03:33, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Boxglasgowlogo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:52, 13 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner.
