A tag has been placed on Local ghost haunts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. iBentalk/contribsIf you reply here, please place a talkback notification on my page. 04:50, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Local Ghost Haunts. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Your comment on Talk:Local Ghost Haunts

[edit]

I am copying the following discussion from Talk:Local Ghost Haunts, in case you don't see the response there. I hope the answer to your query is helpful. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:12, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and delete it, but I think this is BULLSHIT. We are a paranormal investigation group that offers up complete episodes of our investigations just like Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Hunters International, Paranormal State, The Othersiders, and Ghost Lab (just to name a few). Yet, these shows have a page. What makes us different? The fact that we are not on a network? What else do we need to qualify for a page? We have made valid points and discoveries in our paranormal investigations, and yet we are not considered to have made a contribution? Local Ghost Haunts was interviewed by the Los Angeles Times, and will be part of a feature story due late Feburary. Is that good enough? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomasmarino (talkcontribs) 05:36, 1 February 2010

I suggest reading Wikipedia's notability guidelines to see why the article is being considered for deletion, and also the conflict of interest guidelines to see why you may not be the best person to write such an article. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:10, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Use of more than one account

[edit]

You should be aware that for one user to write comments purportedly coming from more than one user to create a misleading impression is not accepted on Wikipedia. It is known as "sockpuppetry", and can lead to users being blocked from editing. This applies whether the attempted deception is carried out by using more than one account or by editing without logging on as registered user. Getting another person one knows to edit and pretend to be an independent editor is regarded as no better: this is known as "meatpuppetry". JamesBWatson (talk) 08:56, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
