Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Rev. Dr. Eugene Callender.[edit]

Hi, I see that you have been trying to break down the article into sections. Unfortunately this is not the way to do that. Please read WP:SECTION for tips on how to use sections. WP:FIRST is also a good starting point. Jarkeld (talk) 20:56, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ps: you don't need to sign the edits you make to an article in progress. Signing only applies to regular talkpages. Not the Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ pages. Jarkeld (talk) 20:59, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is also worth noting that it is not allowable to copy text from copyright sources. Both [1] and [2] have identical text to that in your article. No copyright material is permitted in Wikipedia without specific and written authority and any material found to be copyright will be deleted. I have put in a few headings to get you started - hope that this helps.  Velella  Velella Talk   22:04, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will see if I can get a friend to help me with this techie stuff... it is over my head. I appreciate what others have done to help this article conform to WP requirements.

Or maybe someone else already on WP will do this part? My newbie-ness is showing. Please pardon.

I hope the article won't be deleted in 24 hours while I search for help.

The owner of the copyright will give permission to use this article on WP? Is that acceptable? Or do I have to start all fresh? Or just a re-write?

We are friends wanting to document Eugene's life before he passes.

Thank you for your help and guidance. I appreciate it.

Title of article and copyright violations[edit]

One more thing; if as seems likely the article is accepted; it would need to be just as Eugene Callender - the use of titles in biographical articles is deprecated in Wikipedia. No problem with using his full title in the article but not in the title. Regarding the obvious copyright violations - the easiest way round is, having read the copyright material, to simply set down his biography in your own words avoiding the re-use of phrases or sentences from the original. Generally a précis does the trick. Regards  Velella  Velella Talk   09:44, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
