Saved text from "Today's Youth" article

Threw out the ages young people where and are criticized by elders.Examples survive from ancient Greeks and Egyptians.

In all actuality, this and similar quotes probably did not originate with Socrates, however, they do make for illustrative views on the generation gap as perceived today. Justin Eiler (talk) 11:57, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually, it is not attributed to Socrates by Plato--that claim was made in a 1953 book, but the closest quote is from Plato's Republic, book 4:

“ I mean such things as these: — when the young are to be silent before their elders; how they are to show respect to them by standing and making them sit; what honour is due to parents; what garments or shoes are to be worn; the mode of dressing the hair; deportment and manners in general. ”

Today's youth

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Today's youth, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
