Thanks and little remarks

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Gravitational lens does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! - DVdm (talk) 15:03, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tom, thanks for having provided a source now with this edit. However, I have some little remarks:

  1. We never capitalize common nouns when we talk about things such as quasars, unless we refer to the article by its name, such as Quasars—see MOS:CAPS. Tricky, I know .
  2. The article Quasars was already wikilinked, and we do that only once in an article—see wp:REPEATLINK.
  3. The edit summary of your edit was not accurate, and some might find it misleading. Someting like ("Undid revision 829067804 by DVdm (talk) but added a source") would have been correct.

Anyway, good work. Cheers! - DVdm (talk) 15:05, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
