Colonel By SS

[edit]

Per your revision to Colonel By Secondary School, I congratulate you on removing vandalism. However, Segun Makinde is actually 15 years old and not 67. If he was 67, he would not be in high school. For further proof, please take a look at the picture, he is clearly a teenager and not a 67-year old. Jamesino 04:25, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, looks like there was an accurate edit in the middle of that string of 20+ vandalisms.Treygdor 22:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TDM

[edit]

Treygdor, you wrongly accused me of vandalism to TDM and gave me a last warning. I think you made a mistake. ALL I DID WAS REMOVE MADHASAN'S FLAMING! >.< I'd appreciate you getting back to me. Sorry I had to put this here, I didn't know how else to contact you. - MooMix1

But I didn't keep adding The Death Monkeighs to TDM, I only did it once and then you told me to stop. I was just editing what other people kept adding to make it look better since they just kept putting it back up. MooMix1 12:42, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, thank you for understanding. :) MooMix1 16:45, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of article on POV and COI issues

[edit]

Please explain what you mean. I just started the article! Where is the COI -- I don't even know the man! You are abusing your power and making Wikipedia a big downer, a depressing place. --Mattisse 23:06, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I have asked the Village Pump for advice on what to do. I have to leave for a while. I don't want some nut deleting it while I am out at dinner. --Mattisse 23:06, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

O.K. Everytime I see the word "legendary" I am going to put the same tag on the article, even if it is a quote. Thanks for the idea. Explain the COI -- or can you? I'm not going to work on the article anymore anyway. I'm deserting it. You have pretty much made it an unpleasant experience. But I like that tagging POV for every "legendary". --Mattisse 23:43, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey! You're right! It is so much fun and so much easier to run around giving tickets than writing articles! Thanks for that tip too!--Mattisse 00:24, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Baby steps on contributing

[edit]

Treygdor, I read the online material on how to make a contribution without gaining much insight. My attempt to start a contribution on Rotating machinery was "speedy deleted" since I did not get the understanding required of the sandbox approach. Therefore, please answer the following questions:

1. My contribution will be several pages when completed. Can I write it in Word and then upload it?

2. If uploading an article is not an option can you explain how to create a user space sandbox? In other words, can I write a little bit from day to day and then publish it when it is completed? It may take me two or three months to complete the article.

3. What is the best way to create and contribute a lengthy article?

Thanks, Nzjscg 02:26, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Treygdor!
We thank you for uploading Image:DannyT.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:DannyT.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 20:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:36, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User talk:Deanhamiltonusa, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
