Tricia Santos

[edit]

If you want to make an article about Tricia Santos, you can, but I must give you some warnings, and some things to read.

Why it might not be a good idea: an article about Tricia Santos was input this morning; from the very first version it said some bad things about her, and there was a lot of edit-warring, mostly from anonymous users. Some people kept putting in bad things about her and others were taking them out; so in the end the article was deleted as an attack page. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a fan-site. I am concerned that if you make another article, once again there will be edit wars between her supporters and the others; think carefully whether you really want that.

Wikipedia is very careful about Biographies of living persons, particularly young persons. They have to be right, and they have to cite good sources for what they say. If you make an article, you can't just put in things you know, or things you think: you must give reliable sources for everything it says.

Also, we only have articles about people who are notable. That means showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. Just being a contestant in a reality show is probably not enough for notability, so unless she has some other notability, an article about her is likely to be deleted anyway.

Before you start, read WP:Your first article. If you are Tricia Santos, or are connected with her, read WP:Conflict of Interest. And read WP:Biographies of living persons very carefully. Then think carefully whether you really want an article about her - if you make one, you will not be able to control what other people may put in it.
