Trigger is a Greek metal industrial band founded by Kostas Lolis, also known for being the vocalist for the Death Metal band Tumult.

Band history[edit]

Early Days[edit]

The interest for Trigger’s yet rhythmic and accessible techno-metal had definitely awakened. Trigger was originally formed in 2002 by Kostas Lolis. Lolis long time friend, Kostas Nikolakis (Feelin’ Guilty), joined shortly after, and filled in as the guitarist/bass player, during the writing and recordings for the “Reflections” album. “It all started as a side-project” reveals frontman Kostas Lolis. Trigger released early 2005 their debut-album “Reflections”. Shortly after, guitarist Dimitris Mouzakis who played in the death-metal band Bleeding Daylight/Via Serpentis alongside Lolis joined the band as the drummer for some rehearsals. During this time, Trigger recorded several new songs with guitarist Thodoris Tsilianos (Tumult) helping out the band. Also in 2005, Trigger collaborated with the hip-hop band Professional Sinnerz and cut the track “Throwaway”. The song also featured on a DVD for the Street Attack magazine beside other Trigger tracks.

After several changes in the line up, in the spring 2006 the puzzle was completed with Manos Mylonas (bass) and Kostas Chief (drums) filling up the places. And this time it seems that a more collaborative route developed. “It was a little strange to have other people involved in the process because I can be very protective of the music," admits Kostas. "In the past, it was very difficult for me to let other people participate because it was such a special, private and personal experience for me. Now, for the first time, we have a group of five people who have the same vision, share the same tastes and dreams. And it's amazing because we all work so well together."

In addition to be completed as a line-up, Trigger has undergone a musical transformation as well. But in order to move forward some things had to be left behind. And that was not so easy. In some ways it was the birth of something new and the death of something old. Progressive, multi-tracked passages, full of thematic ideas, “We had to focus on new musical landscape”. Now all band member’s are involved in the process of the song writing than it was in the past.

The results are transparent. The new song “Friend” is a dynamic, energetic driven song with infectious performance of each one of the band member’s with an’ anthemic chorus, that shows the renewal of the band getting to new higher levels.

Trigger’s music can be described as “Bang your head music”. Prepare to pull the Trigger!!!

Debut and Trigger[edit]

Kostas Lolis and Kostas Nikolakis recorded their debut album in Athens, Greece, which was released on 31 January 2005 in their home studio. The two band members decided to work with other musicians together for giving some live gigs.

Nothing Left To Destroy and Recent Events[edit]

Trigger revealed that the band were working at least on 14 new songs together, and in September 2007 they will start with the recording process to begin work on a follow up album titled "Nothing Left To Destroy". A release date is not yet known. The band released a live video for the song "Friend" which shows the band performing live in the Rodeo Live Club [1]On 22 April 2007.

Following the announcement for the recordings of the coming album, "Nothing Left To Destroy", rumours of the track listing included: 9,02, Friend, Red Lips White Lies, The Thin Line, Don't Waste My Time, Sick'o, Last Degree, Descend, Had Enough and Cold-Hearted World. Also the re-recorded tracks "Seeds Of Aggression", "Liar" and "Born Dead Buried Alive".
