AIS revert

[edit]

If you are new, I probably violated our "don't bite the newbies" policy in my explanation for reverting your contributions to AIS. Sorry. As you may discover, we expect comments and warning before someone does major surgery on a fairly complete article written by an active editor. It's also a little early for you to accompany such changes with unwarranted insults as explanations, so I will have to plead that as my excuse for being annoyed. I have put a lot of effort into updating our coverage of intersex topics. Some are not quite complete (e.g., history of intersex surgery, and some I haven't even touched. It's a slow process and lots of topics are in desperate need of updating if you have a particular interest. Maybe start with intersexual if you feel you have preaching to do and want a challenge. I was saving it for last because I think it needs a complete rewrite. Why don't you give it a try? If you just want to argue, I'll be happy to oblige, but I will ask that you read carefully and not accuse an article of saying something you wish it did (so you can do some self-righteous bashing and rewriting) instead of what it really says. I have a hunch that was some of what you were doing with AIS. Welcome. Alteripse 20:48, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Albert Einstein relativity and Poincare

[edit]

Hi, Triona. I recently experienced a similar situation to the one you had at Albert Einstein, where I was certain that an anonymous claim was vandalism because it said that Leibnitz invented relativity before Einstein. I reverted the edit, calling it "vandalism", like you did to the following sentence:

The Nobel Committee refused Einstein the Nobel Prize specifically for Relativity, due to the controversy over who was the true discoverer of Relativity, Einstein or the Frenchman Henri Poincare. (User:69.22.98.162)

Apparently, though, neither the claim I reverted nor the one you reverted was actually vandalism. I wrote the following at Talk:Albert Einstein#His Theory:

There are seemingly more credible sources supporting the claim. See Who Invented Relativity, for instance. Since they are stronger than rumors, we probably shouldn't be so quick to revert such claims as "vandalism". The Rod 15:48, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway, to avoid an edit war, we'll probably have to work through this issue to see how valid such claims are (and certainly reword them to be less "in your face, Einstein!") before reverting them. Best regards, The Rod 15:56, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Imposters

[edit]

Someone must really love you today, I've lost track of the fans so far... you should drop in the channel :) Triona 22:05, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I am loved. See: User:Cool Cat/Impersonators --Cool CatTalk|@ 22:17, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. I know how frustrating it can be when people take the AfD tags out of the article. Movementarian 08:18, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hurricane Year Disambiguations

[edit]

It is the policy at Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones to only use year disambiguations when necessary, i.e. when another storm of the same name has previously existed. If you think this policy should be changed, please bring it up there. Thank you :-). - Cuivienen 06:11, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I responded to your comments. Sorry for the delay, got carried away with work etc. --Cool CatTalk|@ 08:43, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
