As an encyclopedic source, Wikipedia content is mainly based on reliable secondary sources. For any content regarding medical or other health-related claims please see the specific guidelines (commonly referred to as MEDRS) for identifying and using reliable medical sources. In particular, MEDRS explains how medical claims need to be supported by appropriately selected peer-reviewed scientific review papers or major clinical guidelines of widely recognized health organizations.
