Facts

[edit]

My IMDB page has listed me in numerous fields of film work. Not just a production assistant. While the things I've worked on maybe have not all been notable, the works I've explicitly listed on the page have won awards, and I have provided links to a review of my work which has been published in Currents Magazine, which I believe is in fact notable. Tyler Hickman 08:46, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

That sounds fair. I hope the admin and others will check my page and it's links to verify that all the information I have put up follows the guidelines. Thank you in advance. Tyler Hickman 08:56, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

  • Tyler, the problem isn't that the films are not necessarily notable, nor is it the various positions that you've held. The problem is that to be included in Wikipedia, you have to meet the same standards of notability that would get you included in a print encyclopedia. The standards that have been listed are to determine who is and is not notable enough for inclusion. I'm sorry, but at this time, you just aren't there - I'm not either, nor are most people. IMDB is specifically excluded from use in determining notability because it lists everyone involved in a film. The awards are not major awards. Sorry. I completely understand. I've been reading and researching the rules, regulations, and guidelines, and I was premature in putting my page up. I am not discouraged, or upset at the facts of the issue. As you stated, the awards are not major, and I have a lot to do before being eligible for inclusion here. Thank you for explaining, in detail, the circumstances as they are. I appreciate it.
