[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:46, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I, UNFCanada / ADuarteMunoz, am acting as a paid consultant on behalf of University Canada West to contribute edits to this Wikipedia page. I adhere to Wikipedia's guidelines and aim to provide accurate and unbiased information in accordance with the platform's principles. Moreover, in my initial edits, I ensured to clarify that I was a paid consultant on behalf of Wikipedia. I realize that I did not disclose in the proper format and that I now will ensure to disclose correctly next time I do now that I will do so properly. I clearly understand the rules and regulations of the site and their purposes. I, in no way, was ever trying to go against them. This purpose of the page was to add new, legitimate developments in the city of Niagara Falls.

Decline reason:

Wikipedia is not a mere database, this is an encyclopedia with criteria for inclusion, what we term notability. It is extremely unlikely that your client- which isn't even open for operations yet- meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization at this time. Please see WP:BOSS and have your client's representatives see it too. You won't be unblocked to, in the near term, edit about topics for which you have a conflict of interest. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you want to edit about other topics, please tell what in a new request. 331dot (talk) 00:51, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My client has literally been recognized and accredited by the Mayor of Niagara Falls, Ontario and Ontario's Ministry of Colleges and Universities (see https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/a-new-world-class-university-is-set-to-open-in-ontario-in-the-next-two-years-1.6114063). Wikipedia literally allows you to edit on behalf of clients IF YOU DISCLOSE IT (see the first bullet under Paid editing, it says "you must disclose who is paying you, on whose behalf the edits are made, and any other relevant affiliation;" - ). I, unfortunately, did not disclose myself properly and am more than willing to disclose once my account is unblocked. Moreover, I'm not editing anything that is in the interest of making my client "look good" whatever that means. I'm doing it because it's basic fact that they are an institution in Niagara Falls and I am more than willing to allow other editors come in and say whatever they want.
