[edit]Hello, I'm Mako001. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Ashoka because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. [edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 14:33, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Regarding adding a Link
[edit]I had added the information about the concept that is not there in the article and with refernce to the concept I had given a " Citation" and so I think that is okay as I have seen many of other users do the same and there links are there in wikipedia. If my information is not appropriate then I am sorry. 2409:40C2:2C:DD7B:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 15:05, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- Blogs are not usable sources. MrOllie (talk) 15:14, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Regarding adding links
[edit]Sir I can understand, but sometimes blogs are the trustable sources. If a person do entire research on the topic and also writes it by self with 100% unique content, then sir blogs are the trustable sources. 2409:40C2:2C:DD7B:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 15:18, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- No, that is the opposite of what Wikipedia's policies say. If you continue spamming blog links in this fashion you can expect that your accounts and IPs will be blocked, and/or the blog URLs will be added to Wikipedia's spam blacklist. MrOllie (talk) 15:23, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Regarding Links
[edit]Then sir tell me what should I do I added useful information and if I won't get credit of that then it is not helpful for new writers like us. Please give me some way to add information to wikipedia as I would love to add it. 2409:40C2:2C:DD7B:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 15:43, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- You can base anything you add on sources that meet our guidelines, such as books from major academic publishers or peer-reviewed scientific journals. MrOllie (talk) 16:00, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Regarding Link
[edit]Sir I had check one article about Jupiter planet where I saw external links of blogs or wordpress but that was not removed so my question is why this thing happen to me 2409:40C2:103C:63AE:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 16:34, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- If you have seen other linkspam on Wikipedia, that is a reason to clean up the spam, not to make the problem bigger by adding more linkspam yourself. MrOllie (talk) 16:53, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Udaipur, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. You have been warned multiple times in the past about adding blog links to pages. Oblivy (talk) 13:03, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
