Elizabeth II
[edit]Howdy. I recommend that you stop trying to force into the Elizabeth II page, your changes, that have been objected to by multiple editors. There's a talkpage 'there' for you to use, so you can try to 'gain' a consensus for what you want added. GoodDay (talk) 05:15, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Respectfully, English is my native language and I am well aware of the conventions of English grammar. I do appreciate that you chose to address me privately rather than humiliate me publicly as other editors have done. MCzarn (talk) 05:23, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- That's not the point. You're being too bold in your actions & carrying on as though you're the boss. My friendly advise to you? Don't make such changes & instead use the article's talkpage. Otherwise, you'll eventually end up being reported by another editor for 'edit-warring', which will end in you getting blocked. GoodDay (talk) 05:26, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
Frankly, One could easily take your attitude as hostile, considering that you seem to have ascribed motives to me that I do not have. in no way did I state at any time that I have a authority over anyone whatsoever on this website.
I also stand by what I said regarding my intentions and my awareness of the conventions of English grammar. Additional , I have no desire to create edit wars; rather, I don’t appreciate the public humiliation that followed my editing, which I also made clear on the talk page. You’ll also see that I addressed further concerns on the talk page and I do hope you’ll give me the benefit of the doubt. Again, I acknowledge that I have no authority over anyone, but i also maintain my intentions to follow the conventions of English grammar, well aware of the striking differences between the many varieties of English.
In conclusion, I hope I do not need to emphasize that anymore, especially now that I have clarified them on the Queen Elizabeth II talk page. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to reply to me on that talk page instead. Thank you again. MCzarn (talk) 05:52, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Being within the conventions of the English language is not the sole requirement for contributions on Wikipedia. You also can't be this sensitive about having your changes reverted or discussed if you're going to participate, it's an everyday part of the process when building a collection of information based on consensus.
