Your recent activity

I have integrated or reverted some of your edits. I hope the summaries I left will be exhaustive about the motivations. As for why I gave a look to your recent activity, according to what I have seen your edits tend to be more destructive (by removing sources or sentences) than constructive and often silence points of view that do not conform to your personal opinion. --Grufo (talk) 03:45, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

This really is just a heads-up - I'm not implying you've done anything wrong, but you need to be aware. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 18:23, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up. If you ever see me violate WP:BLP, call me out and I'll correct my behavior ASAP.VR talk 18:39, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Just look at this

Nonie Darwish's twitter account makes for some err... "interesting" reading. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:24, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

I've been doing some digging too. According to Media Matters for America, which users agree is a reliable source, Darwish called Obama a “political Muslim”. Citing this claim, among others, Senator Kevin Parker wrote a letter questioning the "veracity and credibility" of statements made by Darwish. In a press release, Senator Parker said "...Nonie Darwish, an individual unqualified to speak on Islamic jurisprudence and has a long record of using racist and incendiary language..."
I think some of this, when sourced to reliable sources, should be made clear on our article on Nonie Darwish.VR talk 21:39, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
There's some interesting criticism in this 2018 journal article, describing her as being part of a "sharia scare industry" and "Worlds apart from acknowledging Muslim Americans as compatriots or fellow human beings, Darwish’s shariah scare industry portrayal transforms Muslims into anti-American automatons." According to the article she also stated that “[muslims] are incapable of feeling compassion toward non-Muslims. Acknowledging compassion to non-Muslim oppressed minorities is grounds for apostasy. A Muslim must stay hardened and unyielding” This is definitely veering into Alex Jones territory. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:49, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Hemiauchenia Ok, first of all how did you find that? What search engine did you use? JSTOR?VR talk 21:54, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
I think I typed "Nonie Darwish criticism" and it was on the 3rd page, it's also on google scholar. Hemiauchenia (talk) 22:03, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Got it.VR talk 22:05, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Interesting, the person who wrote the MMfA article is Max Blumenthal, who now runs the deprecated, The Grayzone. Hemiauchenia (talk) 22:16, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
I didn't know that. So would an article authored by Blumental in MMfA be considered a reliable, secondary source? VR talk 22:34, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
The article has an audio file (which still works after all these years) which matches the transcript, so yes it's fine. Hemiauchenia (talk) 22:40, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Our perennial sources entry Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#Media_Matters_for_America seems to be outdated or in contradiction with this discussion closed by ToThAc. Is it simply the case that no one updated the perennial list? VR talk 22:42, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Recent edits to Ruhollah Khomeini

Hi, do you find the recent edits to Ruhollah Khomeini to be in line with the TP consensus? --Mhhossein talk 14:43, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the earlier message

And, keep up the good work. I don't really have much to add in the various disputes going on right now other than repeating myself. May have something to add on the concubinage article, as I note that some authors like Kecia Ali are quite badly quote-mined, but that too is a repetition. Take care and keep cool. It's not always easy. 39.37.128.59 (talk) 13:46, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
