Speedy deletion nomination of of Trustler
[edit]A tag has been placed on Trustler, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jolly Ω Janner 16:18, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
The article did not indicate how the subject is notable by Wikipedia's criteria, and that's why it was deleted. Just because it exists does not make it notable. I can restore the article to your user space here: User:Vivires/Trustler. You'll have to address the notability concern before it can be moved back into article space. ... discospinster talk 23:09, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
- To "prove" notability you have to add reference to independent sources that mention the website. From the page Web Notability, the subject should meet at least one of the following criteria:
- The content itself has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself. This criterion includes reliable published works in all forms, such as newspaper and magazine articles, books, television documentaries, websites, and published reports by consumer watchdog organizations.
- The website or content has won a well-known and independent award from either a publication or organization.
- The content is distributed via a medium which is both respected and independent of the creators, either through an online newspaper or magazine, an online publisher, or an online broadcaster; except for trivial distribution including content being hosted on sites without editorial oversight (such as YouTube, MySpace, GeoCities, Newgrounds, personal blogs, etc.).
- Just because the website exists it does not mean that it's notable. Has it been the subject of a magazine or newspaper article? Has the company or its products been reviewed by a writer for an on-line review site? Has it won a significant award? These are the kinds of things that indicate notability. ... discospinster talk 13:52, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
