Adminhelp 1[edit]

{{adminhelpme}}

Regarding the article Birth of the Federation, someone is still persisiting to add the link to one site callled Armada Fleet Command despite being informed on the talk page that fan sites are inappropite.. I wonder if an admin could add it to the wikipedia blacklist? --Vote4green (talk) 16:04, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not going to add it to the blacklist for a one-user incident. However, I'm monitoring the dispute closely. --Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 16:12, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help request[edit]

{{helpme}}

I wonder if someone could keep an eye on the page Birth of the Federation. It's been in a mini-edit war recently with people adding in links for different fan sites so I have suggested on the talk page to just keep fan sites out of the article altogether? Thanks for any help..the most recent site that keeps getting added a lot lately is "armada fleet command".

Hi there. Please only use {{helpme}} or {{adminhelp}} here, on your own talk page - I moved the other one from Category talk:Wikipedians looking for help from administrators; that wasn't the right place for it.
Regarding the article, if you want, you could request temporary semi-protection to stop new and unregistered users from editing it, on WP:RPP.
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello.  Chzz  ►  05:25, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and introduction[edit]

Hi, Vote4green. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  05:25, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:01, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adminhelp 2[edit]

Sorry but having problems over at Birth of the Federation again regarding the addition of a link being used to promote a fan site..

--Vote4green (talk) 15:58, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This does not require an administrator.
I removed the link (again), and asked the user about it on their talk page. See User talk:Marknutley#May 2010.  Chzz  ►  16:08, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK thanks. I thought it might require admin action as it's part of a long-running problem with this page.. I thought maybe some kind of lock / user ban would be required at this stage..--Vote4green (talk) 16:15, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you have reasonable suspicion that a user is a sock-puppet, please start an WP:SPI (if you haven't). Cheers,  Chzz  ►  16:48, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
