Welcome
[edit]Hello, Wally11, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Three-revert rule
[edit]Reverting a page more than three times in any given 24-hour period is strictly forbidden. That last removal of "International" from the lede may have been counted as your third revert. In any case, 3 reverts is a limit, not an entitlement, so I'd suggest discussing the Order's name on talk instead of trying to edit-war your preferred version in. I've informally asked for a WP:THIRD opinion -- if nobody shows up, I'll make it a more-formal request. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 23:45, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Also, sir, as I presume you are a fellow Master Mason, I would request that you refrain from calling good-faith attempts to improve the encyclopedia "screwing with the page". --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 23:48, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
August 2009
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Job's Daughters International, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 23:50, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
