AIV Bot seems to be down
See section title Kwsn (Ni!) 14:13, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, looks to be working OK at the moment. I can only guess that perhaps the server had some internet connectivity issues for a while if it stopped, because it's been running continuously. Hopefully that should have resolved itself but let me know if it recurs. We really ought to have more than one bot running just in case, but all the others stopped running reliably some time ago. I could run another instance from a different location if there aren't any other takers. Will (aka Wimt) 17:16, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- It certainly appears to be running; it will change the backlog status and comment on school IPs, for example. It does not appear to be removing blocked users, which is the reason I consider the bot to be a very special friend. Kuru (talk) 14:23, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, looks someone has very helpfully completely changed the format of Special:Ipblocklist thus breaking the bot. I'll have a look and see if I can fix, but no guarantees as I didn't write it! Will (aka Wimt) 18:26, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Right, hopefully we're back in action, but worth keeping an eye on it in case I've mistyped something while fixing it! Let me know if there are any more problems. Thanks. Will (aka Wimt) 19:18, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Bah; professional change management is for wimps. Thanks for fixing this so quickly! Kuru (talk) 01:00, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Is the IP user really blocked?
The bot cleared my AIV report on an IP, but there's no block notice on the IP's talk or on the Contributions page. Am I missing something? Thanks. Lagrange613 23:17, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hrm, you're quite right - it wasn't blocked at the time. Hard to say quite what happened there as the bot just checks Special:Ipblocklist to see whether an IP is currently blocked, and it removed it correctly later when it was reported again and actually blocked. They have changed the format of that page with the new Mediawiki version though so I had to update the bot earlier in the week as a result. I'll keep an eye on it and see whether it happens again but please let me know if you see it again. Sorry about that. Will (aka Wimt) 07:56, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
