Creation of talk pages for redirects from a misspeling

[edit]

This is in connection with Talk:Flevorium, which you created as a redirect to Talk:Flerovium. Maybe I'm missing something, but this doesn't seem worth one's time. What is the purpose of a page creation such as this? twsabin 23:46, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A similar page creation of yours is Talk:Natrium (a talkspace redirect for a redirect from a Latin name; nothing links to this page). twsabin 23:52, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know, maybe to prevent decentralized discussions and redirecting just to keep all discussions in one place. WorldExplorer120322 (talk) 23:54, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very happy to see your reply, and first of all: Welcome to Wikipedia! :)

Please see our Getting started page.

About the talkspace redirects: they are completely useless because nothing links to the talkspace redirect pages to warrant their existence, and people won't search for "talk:x" either (they will search for "xyz", which is why redirects from misspellings and alternative names exist, but they will not search for the term with the "talk:" part). The redirects should be deleted, and this can probably (hopefully) be done in the speedy deletion process. Want to learn more about this? :) twsabin 00:07, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox edits

[edit]

Perhaps you should try using your own personal sandbox pages for a long series of edits instead of using public sandbox pages that can be edited or blanked by anyone at any time, including by bots whose job it is to clear public sandbox pages frequently. Just a suggestion. Cullen328 (talk) 07:25, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
