Speedy deletion of "Wink Streaming"

[edit]

A page you created, Wink Streaming, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for companies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thanks. StaticGull  Talk  16:21, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Content delivery network do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Haakon (talk) 18:12, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Content delivery network. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Haakon (talk) 18:14, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Content delivery network. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 18:36, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WINK Streaming

[edit]

If you want the mention in the article, your best course of action is to A) stop spamming the link, and B) work on creating an article about the service. You'll note that every other company listed on that list is a link to an internal Wikipedia article - not external links, and not non-linked company names.

However, before writing the article, be certain to read WP:CORP, and ensure that you have third-party reliable sources (not just links to press releases or self-published materials) available that can show that the company meets the threshold of notability outlined at WP:CORP#Primary criteria. I can see that at least one attempt has been made in the past to create an article about the company at Wink Streaming, but it was deleted because the article did not meet the notability guidelines defined at WP:CORP. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 23:27, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at Content delivery network. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 01:15, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
