Notables must have articles AND sources
[edit]Your recent edit adds a whole bunch of Schoettle's to the article for Lawrenceville School. Per Wikipedia policy on notables included in lists, individuals need an article and a reliable and verifiable source establishing a connection to the school. Edwin and Ferdinand don't appear to have Wikipedia articles, though Ferninand would merit a source as an Olympian. Michael Schoettle has an article, but there is no source that connects him to Lawrenceville, his article doesn't mention the school and no source could be found in a Google search. Without these article and sources, these entries have been removed and should not be reinserted without the required articles and references. Please let me know here or on my talk page if I can help. New to this, thank you for the help! Edwin is a known person for "Sailing Craft" and also recently for 533 North 11th street in Philadelphia, an innovative building which was recently added to the National List of Historic Places.

Question 1: Perhaps I should start with a Wikipedia entry for Edwin?
Questions 2: Are the above two references good enough for authentication.
Ferdinand Paul Schoettle with a Wikipedia reference is not the same as Ferdinand Schoettle OBE (OBE is the father of the F Schoettle with a Wikipedia entry.)
Ferdinand Schoettle's Order of the British Empire does not appear (yet!) on Wikipedia. I just tried to put it on the OBE page. I physically have the OBE and the associated paperwork. Hopefully somebody is able to directly authenticate the OBE through that page.
Question 3: I can link to a page from Lawrenceville's Eyearbook entry I found online for Michael and Ferdinand. Is that good enough? Michael graduated, Ferd was kicked out.
Thank you for your help!
- Don't necessarily assume that articles are in order. See Wikipedia:Creating a new article for the details and procedures for creating a new article, but also see Wikipedia policy on Conflict of Interest as it appears that you have a connection to the individuals involved. A yearbook might be useful, but it's not impossible that someone with a similar name is listed in a yearbook entry. The best sources are books, magazine and newspaper articles about the person, which usually go a long way to establishing notability and providing the necessary biographical details. Some of the sources about the building may support an article about the building, but not necessarily for the person. Alansohn (talk) 06:17, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
Thank you! I'm getting set-up/reading up on the basics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.93.214.19 (talk) 06:29, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
