Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Xackadams, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:50, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Xackadams. I've added the above template for reference purposes based upon what you've posted on your user page about being a "professional editor". If you're connected personally or professionally to any of the subject of the articles you're editing, you should to familiarize yourself with relevant Wikipedia guidelines related to conflict of interest editing because knowing what types of edits the Wikipedia Community feels are acceptable for a COI editor to make may help you avoid problems with others. Now, if you've been "hired" or "contracted" to edit Wikipedia on behalf of any of these subjects, you need to comply with Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure; compliance with this policy is mandatory and undisclosed paid-editing is a violation of the Wikimedia Foundation's wmf:Terms of Use. I've added the above template and am bringing these things to your attention, not to try and scare you away but rather to try and help you avoid problems which could actually lead to your account being blocked. If you've got any questions about this, feel free to ask them below, at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard or at the Wikipedia Teahouse, and someone will try and help you sort things out. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:58, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Marchjuly!! But with professional i dont mean that i am paid by any organization. I have worked for quite a lot of time in the editing. This is my first time using wikipedia. Should i edit my bio? Thanks!!!

You may put some personal information on your userpage as explained in WP:UPYES, but try and remember that a userpage is not the same thing as a personal website or online profile where you can post anything you want. As long as you don't violate WP:UPNOT, you should be fine.
In addition, as long as you're not editing on behalf of the subjects of articles or being "compensated" in any form to edit or create content on Wikipedia, you won't be considered to have a conflict of interest. You shouldn't have any problems with other editors as long as your edits are in accordance with Wikipedia's various policies and guidelines and you try to follow WP:5PILLARS.
Finally, please try to remember to WP:SIGN your talk page posts. Good luck to you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:21, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Doyou have any conflict of interest with this article? DGG ( talk ) 07:08, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DGG I have no COI with this person. I started expanding the article based on the references and it was in early October. I realized this earlier that this topic has a clash, as there are two people who are claiming this. Then i stopped working on this article totally. If you think than any of my edits are violating the wiki policy than please guide. I will be more careful next time. :) (Xackadams (talk) 07:30, 20 November 2019 (UTC))[reply]

I have some doubts about the whole article-- WP is not GUINESS. The entire thing seems to me like a publicity stunt .Such articles are often kept at AfD nonetheless, so I am not sure how I shall proceed. DGG ( talk ) 19:08, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The basic article was just informational based on references. Maybe its publicity after editor expanded and added all the information. Also, instead we can just remove the information to the basic. (Xackadams (talk) 07:03, 21 November 2019 (UTC))[reply]

Hello, Xackadams. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Arunava Sinha".
