AfD Nomination: Missing prisoners of Chile[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Missing prisoners of Chile meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Missing prisoners of Chile. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. JohnCD (talk) 22:00, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why I have nominated your article for deletion[edit]

As you are a new user, I am writing to explain in more detail my reasons for nominating your article for deletion. Wikipedia maintains itself as a useful encyclopedia only by having a clear idea of what sort of material is appropriate for inclusion and what is not - see the long policy article explaining What Wikipedia is not. That includes Wikipedia is not a memorial site (we do not have articles commemorating people who have died, unless they meet the Notability requirements to have an entry), and Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information (we do not include unnecessarily large amounts of detailed information, even though it is true). Other relevant policies which may apply are Wikipedia is not a vehicle for propaganda or advocacy, and the very important policies on Biographies of living persons and Verifiability.

Your comments are welcome in the deletion debate - please "sign" them by ending them with four "tilde" characters ~~~~ which the system will convert to a signature with your username and the time and date - but it would be worth your while first reading the policies I have referenced.
