Well, I'm pretty sure your sandbox edits never even happened, you were blocked before that - at any rate I recommend you read the guide to appealing blocks linked in the block template. It should also be helpful for you to understand your block by reading the <Before you request unblock> section, I recommend you read that first.

I think what likely may have happened is that an administrator either noticed your edits on the Tree frog page, or a report of you on the administrators' noticeboard regarding those edits, and acted (placed the block) right around the time you began experimenting in your sandbox.
