[edit]Hi, thanks for message. The page was deleted initially in 2010 on notability grounds following a deletion discussion, but that's years ago, so I'll deal with my recent deletion. I deleted your article because
- it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. In my deletion comment I noted that many of the references were associated with the company or were press releases or similar.
- The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
- significant coverage in
- independent,
- multiple,
- reliable,
- secondary sources.
- Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
- it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: helps businesses manage the public facts about their brands that they want consumers to see online... Businesses use Yext to update the public facing facts about their brands across Yext's network... generate leads for its customers through a pay-per-call model.
- You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. Thank you for declaring your interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. - You said No one on the marketing team at Yext has been able to edit the Yext page... any new updates were not done by the company... how can I reinstate the page... You and your company do not own the page, and because of your COI you shouldn't edit the page directly, but rather make suggestions on the article's talk page. I note that several previous contributors appear to be single-purpose accounts and may be undeclared paid editors (see below) who perhaps should have been blocked.
- If you work directly or indirectly for the organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Yexter16. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form:
{{paid|user=Yexter16|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. This requirement applies to anyone from your company who attempts to create or edit the article. - Because your name is a violation of our username policy, I'm going to block you after I've finished this posting with the option to create a new account. Note that if you had actually attempted to create or edit the article, you would have been hard-blocked without the latter option
Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article.
What I'm prepared to do, since the article wasn't the worse I've seen, is to restore the article as cleaned-up draft if requested to do so by an editor who has declared their company employee status as described above. Any subsequent changes (other than trivial typos or the like) should be requested on the article talk page, with independent third-party references.
