Vedat Muriqi (born 24 April 1994) is a Kosovo-Albanian football striker who plays for Turkish club Gençlerbirligi and the Kosovo national football team.

Career

Giresunspor

He made his debut with Giresunspor against Antalyaspor, scoring in the 90+3 minute.[when?] His second match was against Konyaspor in Turkish Cup where he scored again in the 73rd minute and led his team to a 1-2 victory.[when?] Muriqi scored an hat-trick against Boluspor.[1] He later scored two goals against Kayseri Erciyesspor.[2] PSV Eindhoven and Fulham made official offers for Muriqi but were later rejected by Giresunspor.[3]

Gençlerbirligi

Muriqi signed for Gençlerbirligi on 30 May 2016 for €500,000 and a player, after interest shown by Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.[4][5]

Personal life

He also has Turkish passport.[6]

International career

Muriqi currently plays for Albania under-21 national football teams. After taking Turkish passport, Terim called him for the Turkey national football team.[7] However, Muriqi was included in Kosovo national football team list on March 2016.[8]
