WFMB 1450 AM is a radio station broadcasting a sports talk format. Licensed to Springfield, Illinois, United States, the station is owned by Neuhoff Corp., through licensee Neuhoff Media Springfield, LLC. WFMB features a variety of local hosts, as well as programming from ESPN Radio.
History
This station was originally licensed circa 1926, as a portable station with the call letters WCBS. When licenses for portable stations were abolished, WCBS settled in Springfield as a fixed station. In 1946, the call sign was changed to WCVS so that the CBS flagship station in New York City could become WCBS. WCVS operated with a Top 40 format in the 1960s and 1970s.
