Walid Ktila (Arabic: وليد كتيلة; born July 20, 1985) is a Paralympian athlete from Tunisia competing mainly in category T34 middle distance events.,[1] and the holder of two IPC world records.

He is the world champion in 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m in the category T34 events.[2]

Achievements

He competed in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, UK. There he won two gold medals in the men's 200 metres - T34 event and the men's 100 meters – T34 event.[3]

In 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, Walid Ktila dominated the T34 events. He won 4 gold medals in 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m events. With this achievement he was in the 5th rank of the multiple medalists.

In 400m T34 event, Walid Ktila (53.61) beat Australia’s Rheed McCracken (53.71) on the line to win the men’s 400m T34. Bronze went to Mohamed Hammadi (55.02) of the UAE.[4]

Walid is holds two IPC world records in athletics in 100 m and 200 m T34 events.
