Wendell and Wild is an upcoming American stop-motion animated dark fantasy horror comedy film directed by Henry Selick, from a script by Selick, Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key, and Clay McLeod Chapman.[2] Produced by Monkeypaw Productions, Gotham Group,[3] and Principato-Young Entertainment, the film will star Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, for a projected release in 2021 on Netflix.
Plot
Two scheming demon brothers Wendell and Wild Sanders must face their arch-nemesis, the demon-dusting nun Sister Helly, and her two acolytes, the goth teens Kat and Raoul.[4]

Development
On November 3, 2015, it was reported that Henry Selick was developing Wendell and Wild, a new stop-motion feature with Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key based on an original story by Selick.[5] On March 9, 2017, Peele expressed interest in developing another film around his Key & Peele character Wendell Sanders based on the music video "The Power of Wings". The film, titled Wendell Meets Middle-Earth, would follow Wendell's existence in the fantasy world that he likes to see his life in.[4] On March 14, 2018, the film was picked up by Netflix.[6]
Music
On June 4, 2020, Bruno Coulais was confirmed as the composer.[7][8]
Animation
On June 15, 2020, production was being done remotely, with lead writer and voice actor Jordan Peele explaining he, "had an absolute blast working with Henry Selick and the crew for Wendell & Wild. I cannot wait for you to discover this film".[9]
Release
On November 6, 2018, Netflix announced the film will be released in 2021.[10]
