A cookie disguised by a bomb was found in a bathroom, leading to the firealarm being pulled and students waiting outside for a quarter hour until the authorities determined the bomb was a hoax. The cookie was wrapped in ductape and had useless wires attached to give the appearance of an IED.

West Forsyth High School is a public high school located in Cumming, Georgia a suburb northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. The school opened in 2007 and is located at 4155 Drew Road, Cumming GA 30040.[2][3] It is 1 of 5 high schools in the Forsyth County School District, and serves students residing in Cumming, Georgia. Its school district comprises the South-West of Forsyth County.

Athletics and Clubs

West Forsyth currently competes in Region 6-AAAAA and has since 2010.[4][5] WFHS has 17 varsity sports teams: competition cheerleading, cross country, football, football cheerleading, softball, volleyball, basketball, basketball cheerleading, swimming, wrestling, baseball, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, track and field, and a FIRST Robotics Competition team. [6] West Forsyth also has a Region 6-AAAAA competing theatre troupe, and they hold one state title. The school is a member of the Georgia High School Association.

A notable athletic alumnus is Ben Emert. Ben Emert was a highly sought after running back for the Wolverine varsity football team in the 2009 season. He is currently a red-shirt freshman at Wake Forest University.


School Culture

The school's culture revolves around the phrase "Gulo Gulo." This phrase is tied together with the "Wolverine Way." [7] The Gulo Gulo hand sign represents a Wolverine paw. The hand is raised with the fingers folded inwards towards the palm, and the thumb is held parallel to the ground.]


Bomb Scare

On Friday, April 23, 2010, the school had a bomb scare. Four juveniles entered the school property around 2 am and vandalized the exterior of the school with spray paint.

The suspects left obscene messages including drawings of genitalia, vulgar insults, and racist messages. A student had left a car overnight, which was vandalized and had smashed windows.
