Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): continuous

Discussion
[edit]- Could you add the opening {{ to the sixth miscellanious regex, to slightly reduce the risk of false positives (although this seems unlikely)? What's the false-positive rate when using these regexes manually? --ais523 12:47, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- I already did this. The User:Jogers/AWB page is a little bit outdated. The most recent version of the settings is at User:Jogers/AWB/settings.xml. Note that it is not the list of regexes I'd like to use. I intend to only use those ones which generally shouldn't produce false positives and remove few obsolete and possibly controversial. - Not talking as a BAG member now, but as an editor interested in articles on albums. I need to be convinced that All Music Guide shouldn't be italicised. It's an online reference book, is it not? We'd italicise The Guinness Encyclopedia of Popular Music (I think), why not AMG? --kingboyk 12:49, 20 April 2007 (UTC) (e/c)[reply]
- I'm not sure. I posted the question about this at WikiProject Albums ages ago. How about bringing the topic there again? Jogers (talk) 13:02, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- /me checks some FAs I've worked on: 1987 (What the Fuck Is Going On?), not italicised. The KLF, a mixture (!!). Well, now I'm confused :) There certainly ought to be consistency.
- Now putting the BAG hat back on :), if you're not sure (nor I), perhaps you shouldn't be doing it automatically? Automated MOS edits are potentially a bit controversial because the MOS is only a guideline.
- Might I suggest that the best approach would be to do as you did with Jogersbot 3, and seek consensus at WP:ALBUMS first? It's much easier for BAG to give the nod if we know there's not likely to be complaints. --kingboyk 13:13, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Sure, I will leave only the most obvious MOS replacements like changing Rolling Stone to Rolling Stone or Robert Christgau to Robert Christgau. I made hundreds of changes with these settings without any complaints but it was a while ago so let me make an exact list of regexes that I'd like to use in automatic mode and ask for comments at WP:ALBUMS. - The exact list of changes I would like to make is at User:Jogersbot#Things I would like to do. I started the discussion about them at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums#General fixes with Jogersbot. Jogers (talk) 18:57, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Approved for trial. Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. the best way to explain this is through example, make 10-20 example edits. ST47Talk 01:23, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
