About the event
[edit]This is a joint event between Wikimedia UK and the Wiener Library for the Study of the Holocaust and Genocide.
The event will focus on editing Wikipedia articles about notable people who were persecuted under Nazism and who are represented in the Library's collections. A special focus will be on women and other underrepresented groups on Wikipedia.
It is intended for current and future users of the Wiener Library who want to edit Wikipedia articles. As well as experienced Wikipedians who would like to learn some shortcuts and editing tips, or who enjoy helping new editors.
Lunch; We are grateful to our hosts the Wiener Library for providing lunch, there will be both vegetarian and non vegetarian food.

- Bring a laptop (wi-fi will be provided), if you don't have a laptop then email jonathan.cardywikimedia.org.uk as Wikimedia UK has some loan PCs for such events

Target List
[edit]Attendees and others are welcome to suggest Wikipedia articles that could be improved during this session. The Wiener Library will provide participants with resource packs containing references that can be used from the Library’s collections to write articles about individuals the Library staff are suggesting be added to Wikipedia. We will also have Wiener Library staff on hand to help with research queries and locate additional resources for inclusion.

- To avoid having multiple articles on the same topic, or having edit conflicts with each other, please start articles in sandboxes and move them to mainspace when ready. If an article is red it doesn't exist yet, if it's blue it has been started.
